The International Working group on women and Sport will on the 25th of March 2017, host a friendly game between Township Rollers FC and Platinum Stars FC (SA). The game will be hosted as one of the initiatives and strategies applied towards the achievement of the HeForShe Target 20 000. The HeForShe target 20 000 is a campaign that IWG launched in November 2015. The campaign was adopted from a solidarity campaign for the advancement of women initiated by UN Women dubbed HeForShe whose goal is to engage men and boys as agents of change by encouraging them to take action against negative inequalities faced by women and girls. The Target 20 000 campaign was specifically launched for sport and as such much has been done in the sports arena. Gates will open at 10H00 on the day and a jam packed program will unfold. The events of the day will include one on one and group engagements with attendants of the event to educate about the campaign. Entertainment will be provided by top local artists such as Vee Mampeezy, Dr. Vom, Ponka, Chrispin the Drummer and many more. A game between Township Rollers Ladies and Gaborone United Ladies will then follow at 2pm. Later at 8pm, the international friendly will be played by Township Rollers and Platinum Stars. There will be stalls in the National Stadium during the build up to the big match. The stalls will be used to promote and encourage signing up for the HeForShe campaign. This will be done and managed by trained volunteers who will assist the public with the signing up on www.heforshe.org
